Huntingdon Town Hall

Huntingdon Town Hall is located on the South side of Market Hill and dates back to 1745, built on the site of an earlier Court Hall. Alterations were carried out and the Town Hall was enlarged during 1817 and is now a building of three stories with an impressive Assembly Room at the top, containing huge paintings of King George II and III and other celebrities. This room became the social centre for the county and has seen many festivities and is often referred to as the Ballroom. The Ground floor is where the Court Rooms and Cells for the prisoners can be found.

Since Huntingdon Town Council have had ownership of the building, further restoration and refurbishment has been carried out to bring the Court House back to its former glory. Many original features have been brought back to life, however since two of the cells were knocked through into one larger room, It is said that, staff and visitors have witnessed a multitude of paranormal activity. Strange noises are heard, cold spots are frequently noticed and some visitors have felt unwell upon entering the building and have had to leave.

With the medieval superstition of Witches and Witchcraft still lingering in Huntingdon, with victims forced to make false confessions due to the appalling ignorance of the times, are the poor unfortunate souls of those cruelly executed still lingering within the walls of the Town Hall? Join our Ghost Hunt and take part in our extreme vigils in the Cells, as we take you back in time to uncover the true tale of the Witches of Warboys and bring justice to light.
