Anstey Hall Sleepover Ghost Hunt – £125

Fright Nights Cambridgeshire invite you to the first ever ghost hunt at Anstey Hall, a late 17th century house situated in Trumpington, on the outskirts of Cambridgeshire. The house is thought to be extremely haunted and there have been many reports from the staff and guests staying at Anstey Hall. Room 5 in particular has left many a guest feeling unnerved after spending the night. The staff often hear footsteps when there’s no one else in the building, and voices are also heard. There is a report of a disembodied ladies voice calling out saying her name is Anastacia.. although no one can find any traces of that name linked to the house it would seem she is trying to make her presence known. Can you help us find out who she might be?!

As well as footsteps and voices, actual ghostly manifestations have been seen.. A black figure has been seen in hallway by the front entrance. Pinstriped trousers have been seen in the library (but no upper body seen) And the latest sighting was only a couple of weeks ago by the night porter who saw and heard something strange in the entrance hall fireplace.

Our Ghost Hunt at Anstey Hall will include the following;

• Mediumship walkround – who haunts tonight?

• Psychic and Ghost Hunting Equipment

• Experiments including seances and glass divination

• Ghost Hunting Vigils in the dark

• Hot Drinks and Biscuits

• Bed and Breakfast

The House has mostly been used as a family home, once owned by writer and poet Christopher Anstey and later by the polymath Robert Leslie Ellis.

There is no gruesome history linked to the house itself but the grounds are close to an anglo-saxon burial ground and there is also evidence of Iron age and Roman settlements and a Roman cemetery. These are all in the near vicinity of Anstey Hall and grounds, on the Road that leads to Granchester. In 1941 the house was requisitioned by the government and thought to be used as offices. When it was purchased by its current owners in 1997, the house was transformed back to its former glory and is now used as a wedding and conference venue.

We are lucky enough to have been given exclusive use of the house and grounds, and after the ghost hunt you will be allowed to stay in the rooms for the remainder of the evening. All of the rooms are double (other than the haunted twin room 5) so you will be sharing a room/bed with the person you attend the event with. There will be no check in on arrival as we will be holding vigils in the bedrooms during the ghost hunt. Rooms will be allocated at the end of the ghost hunt at 2am. Breakfast will be served on the Saturday morning between 7.30am and 10.30am and checkout is no later than 10.30am.

Please note: Over 18’s only, No pregnant women allowed, unsuitable for disabled guests due to the nature of the building and steps. For more information please see our terms and conditions. This event is organised by Fright Nights Cambridgeshire.
